‘I wish to create a website where people can freely learn guitar online from teachers in a studio environment, and not from the kid next door in his bedroom with a webcam. There is something satisfying and motivating about learning music with high quality lessons, particularly when one doesn’t have to pay for them. It provides a positive outlook of music, and learning music, and strays from the negative stigma that can often be found attached to a career in music. With the explosion of online tutorials available today, it is sometimes difficult to filter through sites such as youtube or ehow to find the higher quality lessons. That’s what this website is all about: Quality.’
Pure-Guitar runs on a voluntary donation basis, whereby those who can afford to pay for lessons, pay for lessons, by making a donation, and those who can’t, can’t.
‘I have put a huge amount of time, effort, and money to get the lessons to the stage they are today. I would spend Friday and Saturday nights learning the guitar and developing the website, when my friends would be out having a good time. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to sustain that lifestyle in terms of finance as things become more difficult for me. Also, if I am getting nothing to help fund the website, I am not going to be able to afford the time to create more videos. So I will need help to fund the website, and hope that people will consider donating to help keep the website free. No, you don’t have to, but if you can donate even a small amount, you will be allowing the website to remain free for the rest of it’s online life. ‘
